Description

Melanotan 1 is a synthetic analog of the naturally occurring alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α 𝛼-MSH). 

• Function: It stimulates melanocytes (skin cells) to produce more melanin, the pigment responsible for skin, hair, and eye color. This results in skin darkening (tanning) and offers protection against UV radiation damage.
